CASTEL BELFORT BEEKEEPING: HIGH-MOUNTAIN HONEY IN THE HEART OF TRENTINO
At the foot of the ruins of Castel Belfort in Spormaggiore, on the edge of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, lies Apicoltura Castel Belfort. For over 40 years, the Marcolla family has been cultivating a passion for bees, managing more than 800 hives across Trentino and other regions of Italy.
Thanks to the practice of nomadic beekeeping, the company produces premium, healthy, and natural monofloral honeys, as well as propolis, royal jelly, and pollen.
Where to find them: At their farm shop in Spormaggiore, in the “Un Dolce Segreto” store in Andalo, and on their online shop. You will find honey, natural cosmetics, liqueurs (such as grappa and bombardino), and gift sets.
GUIDED TOURS: A MAGICAL EXPERIENCE FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN
During the summer, the farm organizes guided tours to discover the wonderful world of bees:
-
The honey cycle: From life inside the hive to extraction and packaging.
-
Up-close observation: Discovering the queen bee and the organization of the colony.
-
Secrets of the hive: In-depth insights into propolis, pollen, and royal jelly.
-
Children's workshop: Making candles using virgin beeswax.
-
Final tasting: A taste of the farm's own products.
